Stories

What makes a good story? What do you think makes a story good, or worthwhile? I love stories. But why are some stories more memorable or better than others? Is it a combination of elements that makes them good? Or who tells it? Maybe it has partly to do with why it is being told in the first place, whether for pure entertainment, humor or amazement, or for a moral lesson, or to teach us something about ourselves and other people. There are many reasons stories are told and different reasons why we like them. So while I ponder, share some thoughts on the subject if you have any, and I know you do.

I'm a fan :) stories tie us together, they are a way of sharing the common experience of being human. They inspire us to dream, to aspire to become closer to what we were intended to be...

I like a nifty plot and some literary deviciveness. Stories either remind us of our own lives, or do the exact opposite and take us away. So we relate, or don't relate at all.

I think memorable stories are the ones that 1-you can clearly picture in your head, in combination with 2-being something very out of the ordinary that would cause it to stick out in your mind.

As far as the who is concerned, they're only super memorable if you wouldn't expect that particular who to say it...you know?
